I began using Pinterest in 2011 when it was a completely new platform. It didn't take long to create lots of boards full of pins. I was inspired by all the ideas I had collected and I wanted to actually do the things I had pinned. I started The Pin Junkie as a way to share my Pinterest inspired projects and to share Pinterest tips with my blogger friends.
My enthusiasm for pinning led me to learn everything I could about how Pinterest worked.
I pinned and painstakingly kept notes of what worked and what didn’t.
I learned how to use design elements to make beautiful pins that got pinned again and again.
I collected and analyzed data to see what my Pinterest audience loved.
Soon I had thousands of Pinterest followers. Some of my pins even went viral. I had hundreds of thousands of visitors coming to my blog. I even started making money from things I pinned!
I learned to use Pinterest and turned my hobby blog into a business.
Through my passion for pinning, I learned how to effectively market on Pinterest and how to successfully grow my online presence. My hobby blog turned into an online business. A few years after starting The Pin Junkie, I was able to leave my "real job" in the classroom and now I am blessed to have the opportunity to combine my passion for teaching and my love of pinning by helping people learn how to use Pinterest to achieve their goals!
As an early adopter of Pinterest, I've seen all the changes that have come and gone and I've watched the popularity of Pinterest continue to grow. Years later, I still love Pinterest just as much as I did in the beginning. What makes it fun is sharing it with others who love it too!
I understand that not everyone loves Pinterest as much as I do, and that for many people it can be confusing and overwhelming. I believe Pinterest is an amazing platform and everyone can learn to use Pinterest to promote their online business, even if you're non-techy!
